Clearing out….

Amongst all the chaos of the end of 2017, I had a massive clearout of my book collection. Not an easy thing to do seen as I had donated a couple of hundred to charity shops in the middle of 2016. I managed it though. I got rid of anything that I had read and felt that I would never read again. I also got rid of som e unread books that I had lost interest in. I am guessing that this is a pretty common theme with all you booklovers out there!

the good thing about this is that it game me room to actually organise my books properly for what feels like the first time in ages!

I now have a “Read” shelf.

I have a “Hauled in 2018” shelf.

I have a shelf for all my biographies.

Another for my hardbacks.

Another just has my Jodi Picoult collection on it.

This just makes me feel so much more organised, and also makes it way easier to find stuff.

I still have a physical TBR of over 200, but it just seems more manageable now.

It also means that the books I am picking up I am really enjoying. My least favourite read of the year so far (Fever Dream by Samanta Schweblin) was actually one that had been lingering on my kindle!!!

I’ve also challenged myself to read all 6 books off the Women’s Prize Shortlist this year 😮

Anyway how’s about a #shelfie or two???

Trying to catch up…

So, it’s been close to 8 months since I last posted. Not because I haven’t been reading, but because life got really complicated…

I had a pretty severe bout of depression mixed with anxiety. I got a new flatmate, then lost a new flatmate (she moved into her own place with her boyfriend). I got a job – YAY ME!!!! And also all the regular family nonsense that you have to deal with….

Sooooooo, I have a ton of catching up to do!!

In 2017 I read a total of 136 books!

In 2018 so far I’ve read 23 books!

I do intend to upload synopses/reviews for all of them, but as you can imagine it may take a while, so please bear with me!!!

First I will upload a list of everything, and add links as I get them done!

Lets just see how it goes!
